Tubes and a few tears...

Luke's souvienier from the hospital.

Today Luke got his ear tubes put in...early, early this morning. We were at the hospital at 6:30 for his 7:30 procedure. He did great waiting for us to check in and while getting all his vitals and meeting the nurses. He looked so cute and like such a big boy in his hospital gown (which I hate I don't have a picture of, but we forgot the camera trying to get out this morning). There were no tears from him or mom as the nurses carried him to the operating room. It took about 15 minutes and they called to say we could come to the recovery room. He was up and talking to one of the nurses, and still no tears. What a trooper! Through the day I can tell his ears have been a little sore and those are the only tears we've seen. Nothing a little Tylenol couldn't help with. He seems to be doing well and also appears to be hearing better and have a little bit better balance. When he repeats what I say it's much clearer and he's been more brave in letting go and walking to us tonight. We go back in a week and a half for his post op check up. Thank you for all the prayers, they were so appreciated and welcomed.

Definitely up for playing...onward through the tunnel of no return!
"I have no idea what I'm going to find in this unexplored territory!"
"Finally, I've reached the end...and what to my wondering eyes to appear??!!"
"A reindeer like beagle eating with cheer."
(That's the only thing I could come up with that rhymed...
Taylor had been eying this leopard the moment it came into the house).

Mommy and Me

Mom and I went to the Aboretum last Monday to meet our friends for a fun filled morning of Mommy and Me. First we met up and had a picnic under the shade tree and listened to Kindermusic...which I love, because I love music. Next we headed over to the frog fountains and thankfully mom came prepared this time. Last time I cried because she wouldn't let me get in them. I loved scooting in all that water, until an older friend stuck her hand in their mouth causing the water to shoot me in the head. After that we decided to move on. Lastly, mom and I strolled around and looked at the beautiful flowers and landscaping. It's always so peaceful when we go and one of our favorite places.

Sweet Zachary and his sweet mommy!

Emmy in the frog fountains.

Checking out the grass...it still feels funny to me!
Little cottage. Shortly after this picture was taken we saw a snake slithering along the path and hightailed it out of there .
One handsome little guy!
"Mom! Did you see that snake? Yikes!"

And more scenic shots...I love the Aborteum!

A Walk to Remember

I did get to witness a walk to remember...my sweet boys' first steps. Well, almost. On Tuesday at work my boss Emily came in and said "You have to go see what you're son is up to." My first thoughts were a one year old in a mess of paint...which he loves. When I peeked in his room he was walking from Ms. Linda to Ms. Teressa with the BIGGEST smile on his face. I of course remained calm and shrieked and got all teary eyed. He was so excited to show me and we spent the next few minutes having him go back and forth. I was really surprised he picked this day to walk, as he hadn't showed a lot of bravery in letting go at home, but he definitely showed me. And then after school we had to go show Ms. Trisha, Ms. Lori, Ms. Christie and many others. I'm so happy for him as I know he really was ready to get moving so he could get into more things.
*Note: I know pictures would be appreciated and as soon as we can figure out how to take one while he is walking between us we will post them. :)

Ready for Take Off!

Luke has a new found love...flying! Well, to him it's flying. It all started when Avery got a pretty new pink armchair and Luke LOVED it. In fact they kept pushing each other out of it because that didn't even want to sit in it together it was loved so much. So I pulled his airplane rocking chair downstairs and he is in Top Gun heaven. What's even better is the swinging front to the rocker keeps him occupied for a LONG time. Thanks Grams and Nana...we sure do love to fly!

"Please prepare for take off."
"Everything looks in order here too!"
"And now we will ascend to 20,000 feet...don't worry I do this all the time."
One happy fella!
And what pilot would fly without the proper eye protection?!
"You've lost that lovin' feelin'"
"I feel the need...the need for speed."

Tag, I'm It! (By Luke)

Miss Leigh tagged my mommy, but she thought everyone would rather read about me so here goes:

A. Four places I go all the time:
1. School, which I love my teachers!
2. Church, funny thing it looks like school, but I'm not so sure about the teachers.
3. Target, with mom, it's one of her favorites
4. Chick Fil A, for mommy and me Fridays

B. Four people who call or email me regularly (or my mom to see how I'm doing):
1. Nana and Gigi
2. Grams
3. Aunts Heather and Holly (which includes Lauren and Will).
4. Avery, oh just kidding, but I pretend to call her on my cell phone.

C. Four of my favorite places to eat:
1. Chick Fil A - chicken salad sandwich
2. Marble Slab- LOVE ice cream
3. Sonic - grilled cheese
4. Mimi's cafe - pancakes

D. Four places I would rather be right now:
1. Playing with mom and dad
2. Playing with all my grandparents
3. Playing with my uncles, yes even Uncle Scott can be fun at times. :)
4. Playing with my friends!!!!!

E. Four tv shows or movies I watch over and over:
1. Lion King - so far the only movie that has really kept my attention
2. BOZ - it's a given
3. Aladdin - trip to Midland, I had no say in the selection
4. Brady Bunch - mom says that it's a feel good show, kinda goofy if you ask me.

F. Four people I think will respond and REALLY REALLY want them to (hint, hint): :)
1. Avery and Rachel
2. Pierce and Nate
3. Carson and Reece
4. Lauren and Will
*I know that's cheating, but I love to hear how everyone is doing!!

Meanwhile, here's what I'm up to now:

"Is this ok for me to have?"
"I'm going to go ahead and say YES!"
"See how happy it makes me...and we all want me to stay happy."

When you're 14 months old you're suppossed to eat woodchips...

Or at least I thought I heard someone say that. We went to the park the other day and being certain I had heard that woodchips were delicious I thought I would try one. As you can see from my expression below, I'm not of the beaver decent. Not much of a fan of the old wood chip...it taste like bark.
"Ah, wood chips galore!"
Testing, Testing...
Abort! Abort! Test failed with negative results.

However, it was a beautiful day and we still had a great walk and got to see all the beautiful trees blooming. I love spring and the warm weather. I can't wait until summer for fun in the pool and more days at the park. (And mom says sleeping in...we'll see about that!)
