Tricks and Treats!

We had an amazingly fun Halloween this year. I really love dressing Luke up...he just cracks me up when he's "incognito."
Thursday night, our church The Heights, hosted a huge Fall Festival. It really is awesome how big it is and that it's free! They have a ton of bounce house (one huge monster of a thing) and then each ABF is in charge of a booth. This years theme was the decades, so there was some great 80's music flowing and lots of hippies running around. Our fam went as the crew from Top Gun representing the 80's. Luke was the cutest Iceman and Ross and I did our best to pull of Maverick and Charlie (it takes a little imagination- and shout out to Uncle "M"...we LOVE Uncle "M".) We ate some yummy hotdogs and nachos and had a great time seeing all the sights and our friends.

Luke and Pierce showing some mad 80's dance moves.
Of course, we couldn't keep Luke away from the petting zoo...I know those
animals get annoyed with him barking at them.

Friday night, Ross was able to get home a little early so we could hit the sidewalk running...literally. It only took one house for Luke to get the "trick or treating" act down. After that he was running to each house, knocking on the door (until it was answered) and putting his candy safely in his Elmo bucket. We were pumped, because he got some good stuff that we are still munching on.

"I feel the need. The need for speed." And boy did he ever!

"Knock, Knock!" In case you don't hear the actually knocking, he verbalizes it as well.
His first trick or treat...success!
We ran into our neighbors, Max and Lucy and that made the evening even more fun!
Uncle Fester, aka Lucy and Max's dad, aka David, aka Beth's husband...great guy, funny too!

Later, Avery (and parentals) came over to share our trick or treating stories. She and Luke get so excited to see each other and had to play for awhile before hitting the hay. It was so funny because they were wrestling all over the floor and Avery totally pinned Luke every time. He's going to have to practice more. The candy coma finally set in and our two little pumpkins were off to candyland dreams. We started to watch "The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" but it was staticy, so we just had a great time laughing about our crazy kids and talking about the scariest movies we'd ever seen. Of course, did we watch any scary movies? Nah...we were too tired. :)

Luke playing with more "treats" that came via Grams and Granddaddy today...LOVES THEM!!

Doing the monster mash.
Future's so bright, somebody's gotta wear shades! Avery had no problem doing so at 9pm.
And now the tricks begin...gotcha!!
Luke going for the push off and over manuvere.

VICTORY!!

All in all a treat of a Halloween!!
