Viva Las Vegas!

In order to celebrate:
1. Impending 30th birthday (mine, sadly)
2. Freedom before baby boy #2 gets here
3. and just plain summer fun
We convinced our pals Team Widmer to sneak away with us for a much needed vacation to sin city. As you can imagine, quite the wild peeps we are, we had a fantastic time. It was the perfect trip in my mind, lots of sun, naps, relaxing, really good food and hanging with really good friends...and a little trip to the spa for a prenatal massage (heavenly)! I think we all had a little bit of a tough time saying good bye to our little ones, but it really was fun just having Ross all to myself and not worrying about Little Foot's schedule (who by the way was hamming it up at Nana Camp). We stayed at Ceasar's Palace in one of their new towers and I really did feel like a Greek goddess, it was lovely. I especially enjoyed not cleaning up after myself or anyone else and having fresh towels and a freshly made bed each day...it's the little things. We discovered a peach of treat, Serendipity3, which is based on the restaurant in NYC, and it was so good we ate there twice. Those Frozen Hot Chocolates....yummmm, I could totally go for one now. And the midnight banana split wasn't too bad either. I certainly left any calorie watching back in DFW, because we really ate good. We went and saw Cirque De Solei's "O" the first night, and it was amazing. I loved the style and was really imressed by the stages. If you ever go to Vegas, make sure you see this show. (And we bought "limited view" seating and saved a ton, without the limited view).
One evening we headed over to Fremont Street to a sweet little dive called Hugo's Cellar. Anyone who has been to Fremont can attest it leans on the side of sketchy, but this restaurant was located in the "cellar" of the 4 Queens and it was wonderful. So dark and romantic, they even gave Jess and I each a long stem rose. The food was wonderful and the table side salad prep was a treat, as well as the chocolate covered strawberries for desert. Afterwards, Jessica and I found these wraps (www.irisimpressions.com) that you can wear 100 different ways. I've yet to figure out how to wear mine, but I need to watch the instructional dvd. They were really cute when we bought them, it's just the figuring out that's become tricky.
We spent many hours at the pool reading books and sipping fruity frozen drinks and just relaxing. It was so nice and we did squeeze in some gambling, well the boys did, the gals just cheered them on. It was a great trip, but I was oh so ready to see my little guy....it's true that absence makes the heart grow fonder.

The view coming into our room, the boys did good and got us an upgrade. It was huge, but looking down from our 27th floor window we figured out we were above the VIP pool, as in Very Inproper People tanning topless...yikes!
Ahhhh, the freshly made bed, before I threw all my stuff on top of it.
The double walk in shower. Yes, there were two bathrooms with a connecting shower...again, heavenly, especially when you pointed both shower heads on you. I'm considering this for my own bathroom someday.

Trip #2 to Serendipty3...I loved that place!
Tribute to 1969 on Fremont Street, really good music that night.

The Lovebirds at our fancy dinner night. We were by FAR the most dressed up people on Fremont, but it was fun having a reason to dress nicely.

The last night we went to the top of the Paris Eifle Tower. It was a "little bit scary" of a ride up, but the view was beautiful. Even better was watching the Bellagio's water fountain show from up there, really cool.
