Lil' Bro is 3 months old!

Wow! Ross and I told ourselves before Reid was born "If we can just get to 3 months, we'll be good," and we did! It's not like we had the choice, but we knew the first few months were going to be rough, but looking back, either Reid was an easier baby, or we were more relaxed and had a little more experience under our belt this time. Reid's first 3 months were tough at times, but not near as tough as I thought they would be. Truth be told, Big Bro was more work, Reid just required more time. So we made it to the big 3 and we can't imagine life now without two little boys. I have always wanted a little girl (we'll see on that one), but I have so loved becomming a mom of boys. It really is a special bond, and I love the dynamic it gives our family. We are full of ENERGY, silliness, lots of playing and tickles, but also lots of sweet hugs and kisses. Reid has gifted us sleeping through the night, and has gotten better on napping too. He usually gives me two longer naps and then a couple of catnaps during the day and then sleeps a good 12 hours at night. We are still dreamfeeding, but I'm sensing him trying to already move to a 4 hour schedule. We'll see what the next two weeks hold. He's rolling over from his tummy to his back, hence the lack of love for tummy time. He will sometimes hang out for a little bit, but usually it's just a game of me putting him back on his tummy, and then he rolls over again. :) He's got great head support and we've been practicing sitting in our bumbo. Oh good ole bumbo. He's solely on bottles now and I'm trying to keep up with his demand, but he's getting a formula bottle for his dream feed. Thankfully he takes well to it and doesn't seem to mind...probably since he's half asleep. We're getting lots of coos and spitting bubbles, and sweet smiles with that mile deep dimple. He still has lots rolls, especially on the thighs, and they are too cute. One day we hope he has a neck, but for now, it's all rolls too! We just love this little guy and the sweetness he brings to our family. Happy 3 months Reid, you're 1/4 of year old!
*PIC coming soon, I'm working on finding my battery for my camera. :(

Is the dreamfeed in the middle of the 12-hou night sleep? Jessica would sleep that long if I let her, but our pediatrician wants me to wake her up and feed her before I go to bed, so she gets fed around 11:30-12:30. Curious to know if that is what you mean by dreamfeed.

What we do is put Reid down around 7:30pm/8:00pm and this is his official bedtime. At 11:00pm we get him up (he is still sleeping) and try our best not to wake him by keeping him swaddled, not changing his diaper, unless it is soaked through. I pump around 10:30 and Ross feeds him a bottle at this dreamfeed. You can nurse at the dreamfeed, but they take a bottle a lot easier while asleep and it's over a lot faster. After he's done, we burp him if he's awake and seems to need it, but if not we just put him back to bed. Let me know if you have any other questions. This has worked great for both our boys, and then around 6 months we drop the dreamfeed and it's an easy transistion b/c they aren't too aware of that feeding anyways.

So glad things are going so smoothly for you. It's been a difficult adjustment here, sleepwise (still waking every two hours or more to feed), but I know he'll grow out of it. In the meantime, I try to enjoy the extra snuggles and keep myself in the moment.

Andi, I so wish little one was sleeping good for you, but I'm so proud of your attitude. I know how hard it is to lose patience when we're sleep deprived, but I'll be praying for you sweet friend to have precious time with your baby when he is up, but that he will also start to get a little more shut eye for you. :) And if you ever want to talk sleep strategy I can tell you what worked (and DIDN'T work) for us. Hugs to you and your little ones!
