Too school for cool

School is out for the summer! What a great year Luke had at the Heights CDC. His teacher, Mrs. Denvir, was absolutely wonderful. She has such great creativity that Luke was always so excited about, but also was so very patient and kind with my little man who grew up a lot this year.
I can't tell you how many times I heard "Luke really loves playing with play dough" this year, but I think it helped keep him out of trouble a little bit too.

The fastest play-doh handler in the West.

He also made some really great friends, his favorite being Kousei.

A true friend to Luke. Little Kousei broke his arm the week before school was out. It was quite the drama for the Friendly Frog class!

Everyday I asked him "What was your favorite thing you did today? and "What was your favorite toy you played with?" This gave me a glimpse of his day without the question I know he will come to dread "So, how was your day? What'd you do?" :) By far the most popular answers were "Playing with blocks and building a (city/hotel/mall)" and "Playing in the sand building castles."
Time to get a lot of sand in the shoes to dump out on the floor at home!

They had some really great activities through the year:

The Storybook Parade where he went as Peter Pan:
PS Look at that cutie Emily Elizabeth by Luke.

Donuts with Dad:
Check out Ross' snazzy tie Luke designed for him.

His "Dad Survey" that he did...hilarious!

Visits from the local Firestation:

Luke was a little freaked, hence being in Mrs. Denvir's arms.

Texas week

and a Tea Party:

Tea Time! What a neat experience for learning proper manners

Amidst all the fun, my little three year old turned into a four year old with a lot more experience. Both his teacher and I agree he came a LONG way this year in the ways of listening and obeying and that is such a blessing. Mrs. Denvir gave each student a photo disc at the end of the year, so that's where all these come from. She's awesome! I am so thankful that he is able to go to a preschool whose main focus is learning about God and his love for us. They are planting seeds so valuable and we are so blessed to be a part of it. We are already enjoying summertime though and the break from going so much. Stay tuned for summer fun activities!

Bonus: Here's some of my favorite artwork of the year. They had a great idea at MOPS to scan artwork in (because it really is hard to decide what to keep). One day I would love to make a huge photobook of all his masterpieces.

I thought this was so cute...little candycorns for Halloween.

This was one of his favorite art projects...can you guess why?Butterfly

For some reason there is a love of snakes this year. He certainly does not get this from me.
