Anniversary Flowers |
Ross and I talked as our anniversary was approaching that it was so hard to believe we'd been married 10 years, but at the same time, our lives before we met and started dating seem eons ago. None the less we were both excited to celebrate our big milestone and our New York trip was a perfect place to commemorate our anniversary. Knowing we went to NY to celebrate, I wasn't expecting anything big on our actual anniversary, so I thought I would plan a little "wedding party" the boys and I could surprise Ross with. I wasn't going to say anything and when he got home that Friday night surprise him with a nice dinner, a "bride" and a mini-wedding cake. However, Ross told me early that week to plan on a surprise Friday night and that's all he would say. My plans were going to have to change, so we bumped it up a day and Ross really didn't see it coming. I got dinner from Cheesecake Factory (one of our favs) and set the table using our wedding china and crystal. Nana and Papa sent a beautiful Christmas floral arrangement that looked great and I ordered an italian creme cake from Bonnie Ruths since that's what our wedding cake was. Luke dressed up in his collared shirt and tie and I spruced up and topped things off with my veil. I thought about putting on my wedding dress but didn't want to risk it getting dirty and also didn't want to button all 100 buttons alone. When Ross got home he was totally surprised, which I loved! Luke greeted him and escorted him to our table. We listened to Harry Connick, Jr. and ate our delicious dinner. Then we watched the wedding video with the boys which they thought was so fun. And it was...we all had a great night.

But Ross totally blew me out of the water. My day started out with a Starbucks and a note to be ready at 6PM for our baby sitter and to go out. That's it. So all day I got to think about what we were going to do. Sweet Miss Madison came at 6PM and we headed out the front door. Waiting for me was a gift on the walkway. Inside was a handmade memory book. Each page was a topic that we were going to write down our memories together on. I. LOVED. IT. Perfect. So thoughtful. So us. As the night went on we talked about all kinds of things and jotted notes down. And I got a few little gifts for some of the topics like a Harry Conick CD, an A&M shirt and a vintage photograph print of Macy's in New York. So fun and exciting...I just ate it up! We went and had dinner at Half Shells in Plano, one of our favorite places and dives since we've moved to Dallas and then went and looked at our first apartment and the house we brought Luke home to. We drove past Allen Presbyterian hospital because that's where our three miracles entered this world. Lastly, we went to a wooded area covered in Christmas lights. It was gorgeous and that is where I got my 10 year anniversary gift. He got me so good by surprising me with a sapphire and diamond pendant. My birthstone. His birthstone. In the most perfect setting that again is so me. I was stunned and super excited! It was without a doubt a perfect date. I loved every minute of it and I will cherish those memories forever.

The picture doesn't do it justice...but it is beautiful! |
I will be eternally grateful for Ross Emory Moshell and that the Lord picked him for me. He is the absolute, hands down perfect person for me and the best father to our boys.
