Back to School 2013

This year was a little different for us going back to school.  Luke was entering first grade, but this was his first year in the public school.  While I have heard amazing things about our school, Norton, it's still a "big" school and I was still anxious about his transition.  Thankfully, he's been 100% excited and 110% excited to ride the bus home in the afternoons.  Ross takes him in the mornings on the way to work and since Cade is napping in the afternoons he rides the bus home which conveniently drops off at the end of our street.  I can just walk out the front door and wait for him to get off.  Most of our neighbor kids ride the bus too, so it's nice knowing he's got buddies on there and knowing who they are.  So far, he really loves specials and recess and enjoys eating school lunch there (yay for not packing lunches).  The first week he was exhausted, but he's getting more used to the schedule.  And he hasn't had any "worst" moments, which in my book is great.  He's made a couple of friends, who I've yet to meet, but don't worry...I will sooner rather than later.  I'm excited to see what his first year at Norton brings on!

So big and so handsome!

1st Grade!

Looking up to Dad.

Reid started Preschool for 3's this year at First Baptist Allen.  We loved it so much last year, we were excited to be there again.  He didn't quite understand why he didn't have the same teacher as last year, but Ms. Cassie is really sweet and he's just excited to be at school.  I think he gets bored with mom just playing toys and needs more interaction and challenges.  Also, Ethan, his best bud is in his class!  He's so pumped about that.  Here's to a great year!

So cute and that dimple!

We read "The Kissing Hand" the night before.

I love this little hand and the sweet boy that always wants me to hold it.

Cutie Patooties!

In due time friend!

And I have a feeling this guy is just excited for his one-on-one mom time.
Your turns next!
